Empowering Muslims to benefit society through faith-based campaigns

Animal Welfare Guide

HomeResourcesAnimal Welfare Guide

Cruelty to animals is an on-going daily problem, whether it is in the processes used to manufacture our food, or animal abuse on farms and in homes.
Alongside our duties to our Creator, Islam also teaches us that in order to please Allah, we must fulfil the rights of all His creation, including animals, therefore we at 1st Ethical have produced the ‘Animal Welfare‘ guide, written and approved by Al-Qalam Sharī‘ah Scholar Panel.

“You will not have complete faith until you love one another and have mercy on those who live upon the earth.” (Sahīh’l-Bukhāri)

This guide explains the Islamic perspective on animal welfare and encourages Muslims to make ethical consumer choices, such as free-range eggs, organic milk and line-caught fish when shopping.
