1st Ethical Goodwill Ambassador at Queen’s visit to Lambeth Palace
On 15th February 2012, the Queen visited a multi-faith event at Lambeth Palace. The event was an opportunity for religious leaders to show their support to the Queen in her Jubilee year. 1st Ethical Goodwill Ambassador, Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra, was in attendance along with representatives and leaders from the Christian, Muslim, Baha’i, Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Sikh, and Zoroastrian communities. The royal couple spoke to each group individually as they were gathered around a sacred object selected by them for display at the Celebration. The object was to be of particular significance to the faith or practice of their community, and the Muslims displayed a piece of Kiswa, the cloth enshrouding the holy Kābah. “The first official engagement of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations that Her Majesty The Queen decided to have was the celebration of faiths in the United Kingdom at Lambeth Palace; the seat of the Church of England. This is indeed very significant and a clear demonstration of how much faith is valued, appreciated and celebrated in our country”, said Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra, Goodwill Ambassador for 1st Ethical.
