Maulana is a graduate from The Shariah institute of Higher Islamic Education in Bury, and is the manager of The 1st Ethical Charitable Trust.

Maulana is responsible for ensuring the humanitarian projects sponsored by the Charitable Trust are completed within time and budget. He also heads up the educational arm of the Charitable Trust and frequently organises and chairs seminars on various topics relating to the application of orthodox fiqh to contemporary financial and legal matters. Maulana also provides internal guidance to the 1st Ethical Group on shariah issues.

Outside of work, Maulana serves as a part time Imam to patients and staff at The Royal Blackburn Hospital and provides Shariah advice and guidance to the local Health Care Trust.
